Travis Roy Foundation WIFFLE Tournament 2020

It's All Relative

“Grace, the gnocchi is too soft!”

“O, Dio!  Che maladetta…  Well, your lasagna has too much ricotta!”

These words and many others could be heard every Summer Sunday at “the Big House” in Hull just up the street from Nantasket Beach as the Sorgi Brothers and Sisters and their very large family gathered for a day at the beach and a big Sunday dinner.  The nine Sorgi Brothers and Sisters, who all made it to their 80s and 90s, would have made a classic WIFFLE Ball team… ultra-competitive (mostly the sisters), foul-mouthed (mostly in Italian) and better talkers than players.  The Sorgis were a proud Italian American family from the South End of Boston and from the Le Marche region of Italy.  They worked hard all of their long lives to make sure their children and their grandchildren had the best life possible.

The It’s All Relative team is made up primarily of the great grandchildren of the Sorgis.  We are playing to honor our family, have a great time and raise money for a very worthy cause - the Travis Roy Foundation and spinal cord injury survivors.  And if you hear us yelling at each other, hey, it’s how we were raised!

Thank you in advance for your generosity.
